It was fun

This is the Memorial Day weekend. Brad is out of town and I didn't expect anyone else for yesterday's Sat practice. Wrong! I happily discovered that Yana (our new sankyu) was there ready to practice. She looked very nice with her brand-new brown belt around her waist. Since there were only two of us, I decided to lead a more informal practice and have fun. First, we worked on sanbon kumite.

Attacks: how to turn around (very) quickly, how to cover a distance and get your opponent

Defense: don't get hit! - block, step back, deflect, evade, etc.

We practiced on them for a long time, then did Bassai. I thoroughly enjoyed our informal practice. Yana's strong enthusiasm for karate kept coming from her. I felt it! I had a wonderful morning.
