Losing another student

We said good-bye to another student this week. We're losing Jun Nakamiya to the Portland (Oregon) dojo.

Jun joined us via Hiroko's Japanese language class at Shasta College. In just a couple weeks, he quickly proved himself an interested and apt student. Jun's work ethic is amazing, and his desire to improve correctly is an example to us all.

With just a few months' experience, Jun entered the Central Coast Jiyu-Kumite Tournament this spring, and won the white belt division. His insights about this first tournament experience were very interesting.

I really enjoyed the short time I practiced with Jun, and I'm sure the rest our dojo's members did, too. We will miss him; our loss is the Portland dojo's gain.
