I thoroughly enjoyed Scott’s
practice tonight. Wow, we learned a lot from him. He is a dojo leader of
Westside Shotokan, another SKA dojo in town. He was one of my teachers when I started training at SKA
Redding Dojo (then leader: Godan Ken Osborne) in November, 1985. Jim Sagawa visits Redding DojoThere is something that I am truly happy with and proud of at our dojo these days. Our karate classes are filled with enthusiastic young (and old) people! We sometimes have 16+ students. Most of them are white belts. Our dojo used to be top-heavy for a long time, and had almost no steady young white belts for years. I feel that we now have a bright future again! » read the entire item » Sayonara, Daniel...The sad news of godan Daniel Chemla's death came suddenly from godan Jim Sagawa. He died on March 20, 2008 at his home, surrounded by family and old friends. My sincere condolences to his family.
